It’s been a gorgeous day.

on Jan 6th 2011

I walked outside and saw a gorgeous afternoon. The sky was completely blue, and the grass was a lush green, that smelled freshly cut. It was a perfect backdrop for what happened at work today, and was a great day to have a send-off for someone who has been at the company for almost 25 years. While celebrating today, It made me wonder bout how long I will be at my current position, if I’ll still be at the company I work at now, or if I will move onto other companies. I don’t know where I will end up, and that is half of the challenge.

Being in IT, I know the typical shelf-life of an IT person is roughly 3 to 5 years. I’m going on year two already, and I still feel like I am acclimating to the environment here. I don’t know if I’ve ever had such a long acclimation period. However with newer faces coming in all the time I’m not sure ig anyone really ever does become acclimated to their workplace.
